Three dimensional (3D) bioprinting is a technology where bioinks, mixed with living cells, are printed in 3D to construct natural tissue-like three-dimensional structures.
We are a partner and distributor of bioprinters by Regemat 3D, Granada-based Spanish developer of innovative solutions in the area of bioprinting and regenerative medicine.
The personalized configuration of each Regemat 3D bioprinter takes into account any specific application you can think of. Regemat 3D bioprinters are modular systems that allow you to readapt it as many times as you wish to fit the changing needs of your biopriting requirements without having to purchase a new equipment.
Why Regemat 3D bioprinter?

Personalize your 3D bioprinter!
Each particular investigation is unique and requires a specific configuration, there is no bioprinting system adapted to all research applications, therefore Regemat 3D develop your 3D bioprinter version for your particular group and research project.
The Regemat 3D bioprinters’ equipment is also a completely modular system that allows you to readapt it for future research as many times as you wish without having to purchase a new equipment. Additionally, its Plug & Play print head exchange system will allow you an easy, fast and simple way to exchange the heads for each printing process.
Key specifications of Regemat 3D bioprinters:
- Suitable and compatible with large range of biomaterials and bioinks such as thermoplastics, hydrogels, including the incorporation of cell suspensions.
- The configuration of the printing head and the wide range of movements in X, Y, and Z allow a precise adjustment of the system and to print on different surfaces such as the glass bed, Petri dish or multi-well plates.
- Manual or automatic calibration systems.
- Heated syringe module and a heated bed, allowing to control temperature ranges from RT to 50⁰C and from RT to 120⁰C, respectively. In the case of the syringe, it would even be possible to extend this range to 250⁰C (by using high-temperature metallic syringe module).
- Refrigerated syringe module and refrigerated print bed, allowing to control temperature ranges from 4⁰C to 60⁰ It can be extended to the range from - 20⁰C to 100⁰C (by using additional external refrigerated system).
- Double thermoplastic extruder that allows the printing of scaffolds using two different thermoplastics during the same printing process (system has a compartment enabled for the installation of thermoplastic rolls).
- Light curing systems for hydrogels requiring post-printing photopolymerization (various wavelengths available).
- Possibility of using bi-component syringe, allowing the mixing of two different kinds of materials upon extrusion, facilitating the controlled deposition of a number of biomaterial mixtures.
- Possibility of using coaxial syringe, allowing the extrusion of two different biomaterials simultaneously for the generation of a coaxial structure.
- Construction volume of 120x120x90 mm.
- The software is able to work at G-code level to control the whole printing process.
For Regemat 3D bioprinters we offer:
- Sale, installation, training and after-sale service and support
- Customization of the bioprinter of your choice
- Service contracts, spare parts and preventive maintenance
- Biomaterials and consumables
About mechanical extrusion
3D bioprinters can be classified into two main subcategories using either pneumatic or mechanical extrusion. Regemat 3D bioprinters use mechanical extrusion exclusively - it operates with a motor-controlled piston to apply a vertical mechanical force onto the viscoelastic biomaterial. This has significant advantages:
- A thrust force big enough to extrude materials with high viscosity
- More direct control over the biomaterial flow through the nozzle. Allows to exert precise and gentle force compatible with the extrusion of cell-loaded bioinks (3D cultures generated by Regemat 3D’s bioprinters have reached cell viability rates > 95%)
- Applies a constant force to the material being extruded, creating a continuous and homogeneous flow (in contrast, pneumatic extrusion is an all-or-nothing system that can cause flow fluctuations, affecting print fidelity and resolution)
- Allows retraction capability - mechanical actuators allow the retraction of the plunger and pistons avoiding material dripping and deposition in undesired locations. This feature results in a higher printing fidelity and resolution when compared to pneumatic extrusion-based bioprinters.
